Abstract
This study aims to determine student learning outcomes in terms of
parental participation at home in fifth grade students at the 27 Gernis
Public Elementary School, Sepauk District, Sintang District. The research
method is a qualitative descriptive method. The object of research is the
participation of parents of students. The source of the research data were
the parents of the fifth grade students of SD Negeri 27 Gernis, totaling 32
parents. The subjects were 5 parents of students. The research used
interview, observation, and questionnaire instruments (questionnaire). The
results showed that parents in accompanying children to study at their
parents' homes have carried out their roles well, namely the role of parents
as caregivers and educators, the role of parents as mentors, the role of
parents as motivators, and the role of parents as facilitators. The obstacles
faced by parents in educating children to study at home are that their
children are difficult to manage when studying, the child's mood is not
good, it is difficult to divide the time.
