This study discusses about the professionalism of librarians at the al-azhar 21 islamic elementary school library Pontianak The purpose of this study was to find out how professionalism the librarians is at the al-azhar 21 islamic elementary school library pontianak and how the librarians perform their performance at al azhar islamic elementary school library pontianak. The method used is qualitative method whichis shown to describe and analyze phenomena, events based on the data obtained. Data was collected by observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the professionalism the librarians at the al-azhar 21 islamic elementary school library pontianak was quite good but the librarian"™s performance still needed to be considered with other libraries which were mutually benefical for both sides. And the effort that can be made to improve the professionalism of librarians at the al-azhar 21 islamic elementary school library pontianak is to collaborate with other libraries that are profitable, improve the quality of librarian performance so that the library develops and becomes even better
