PERAN PEMUKA AGAMA YANG TERGABUNG DALAM FKUB DALAM MERAWAT TOLERANSI DI KOTA SINGKAWANG

Abstract

Tolerance between religious communities in Singkawang City can be
well maintained without escape from the role of religious leaders who
are members of the Religious Harmony Forum or FKUB Singkawang
City. The religious leaders are representatives of religious community
organizations in Singkawang City. Research on the role of religious
leaders in maintaining tolerance in Singkawang City is important
because Singkawang City is expected to become a reference for other
cities and regencies in Indonesia in building tolerance between
religious communities in order to create harmony and peace in
society. The research approach used in this study is a qualitative
approach with ethnographic methods. The role of religious leaders in
maintaining tolerance in Singakawang City can be done in various

ways, (1) Religious leaders in Singkawang City, in maintaining inter-
religious harmony, conduct inter-religious dialogue. (2) In increasing

tolerance between religious communities in Singkawang City, the
efforts made by religious leaders are to transmit peaceful messages of
tolerance in accordance with the teachings of the books of each
religion. (3) In increasing the intensity of communication between
followers of different religions in Singkawang City, religious leaders
can integrate into the community in a socio-cultural context
