Abstract

This research aims to find out the use of Google Classroom media in lesson of History in class XI IPS SMA Negeri 9 Pontianak. This study used qualitative approach. The research method used were interview, observation and document analysis. The informants of this study were teachers, the deputy head of curriculum and students. Procedure of data analysis in this study was as follows: data gathering, data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results of this research showed that: (1) teacher has made planning of teaching using Google Classroom media through syllabus and learning steps; (2) the implementation of Google Classroom in the History class was not optimum because some phases of plan were not implemented in the real classroom practices in class XI IPS SMA Negeri 9 Pontianak; (3) the teacher used various evaluation format through Google Classroom, such as quizzes, essays, rote films, and daily and semester tests; and (4) there are no substantial constraints on using Google Classroom media in learning history in class XI IPS SMA Negeri 9 Pontianak; however, there are some issues, such as the internet network, quotas, and communication tools problem that hindered teaching leaning process.
