Abstract

This study aims to determine associative social interaction through social studies learning in class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Sengah Temila. The purpose of this study was to determine the planning and implementation of associative social interactions among students through social studies learning. This research approach is qualitative with descriptive method. Data collection techniques are: observation, interviews and document analysis. Data analysis techniques with data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions/verification. The technique of testing the validity of the data is using triangulation. The number of participants in this study were 33 students in class VIIID of SMP Negeri 1 Sengah Temila. The results showed that in learning planning, the teacher prepares a Social Science Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) in which there is associative social interaction, namely in the form of cooperation that occurs between individuals and individuals and groups with groups during group discussions and forms of accommodation which consist of compromise and tolerance. The results of research regarding the implementation of associative social interaction from the results of interviews and observations are as follows: (1) students cooperate with each other to solve problems in groups, (2) students compromise with each other to negotiate answers that will be used as solutions to answer problems and ( 3) students show tolerance by respecting each other's opinions even though their opinions are different from others.
