Abstract

This study aims to determine the teacher's efforts in developing polite attitudes and teacher obstacles in developing polite attitudes in class XI IPS 1 students at SMA Negeri 1 Sebawi, Sambas Regency. The research method used is descriptive method using a qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were the principal, waka for student affairs, PPKn teachers, and four students. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses data reduction analysis, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that efforts to develop polite attitudes in Civics learning are carried out through lesson planning, learning implementation, and evaluation of learning in the affective domain (attitude). The obstacles in developing polite attitudes to students are caused by several factors, namely internal and external. Internal factors in question are factors that come from within, such as lack of self-confidence, motivation, and awareness in students. Then external factors or come from outside the students themselves, namely family, friends, and social media.
