Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the storytelling method to develop the disciplined character of children aged 5-6 years in PAUD Anggrek, Mubung Village, Kapuas Hulu Regency. The research method used is descriptive method in the form of qualitative research. Sources of data and research are group teachers and children aged 5-6 years in PAUD Anggrek, Mubung Village, Kapuas Hulu Regency. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that: In the preparation stage, formulating goals can be done by making a story script. Determining the story can be adjusted to the RRPH and the objectives to be
achieved. Preparing props is done to clarify the content of the story. At the implementation stage, it is done so that children focus and understand the content of the story, namely keeping the child's attention, paying attention to the child's
sitting position, maintaining eye contact, telling in language that is easy for children to understand, responding to children's responses immediately, and maintaining the class atmosphere by providing humor. At the closing stage, conclude the contents of the story with the children. Evaluation activities were carried out to find out how far the children's understanding of learning in using the storytelling method was. Follow-up is done so that the child applies discipline in daily life by obeying the agreed rules.
