The aim of this research was to improve students"™ reading ability by using wall chart. The research was done in two cycles, it was a classroom action research. The subject for this research was the eleventh-grade students in class XI MIA B. The writer observed students"™ improvement in reading ability by collecting data through observation checklist field notes and multiple choices test. The students"™ attitude towards the learning process was gathered by observasional checklist and fieldnotes. The data of students"™ reading ability was obtained by the students test which was assessed through scoring rubric. The result showed that the students"™ problem in reading beside the comprehension was in their motivation. Furthermore, the students"™ reading ability and students"™ interest in learning process of reading improved. It was proven by the students"™ achievement test and also the students"™ enthusiasm in doing the activities during the teaching and learning process used wall chart. In conclusion, the media was able in improving the students"™ reading ability in Analytical Exposition Text. The writer hopes that what the writer has done will give the English teacher inspiration to conduct wall chart in the classroom.
