Abstract

Abstract : The purpose of this research is to know whether or not the use of story map technique improve students"™ reading comprehension of narrative text significantly. The method used to collect the data was Pre-Experimental with one group pre test and post test design. The research was conducted at Eight Grade C of SMP Immanuel 2 Kubu Raya in the academic year 2013/2014 as sample. From the finding of the data in this research, it was found the students"™ mean score in pre-test is 59.07 and in the post-test is 75.83. From the t-test it was proved that there was significant difference between the score of pre test and post test. In conclusion, the use of story map technique has significantly improve student"™s reading comprehension of narrative text.

Abstrak : Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah penggunaan teknik pemetaan cerita signifikan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman membaca siswa pada teks naratif. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah Pre-Experimental dengan rancangan satu group pre test and post test. Peneliti menerapkan penelitian ini pada kelas 8C di SMP Immanuel 2 Kubu Raya tahun ajaran 2013/2014 sebagai sample. Dari data yang diperoleh pada penelitian ini, menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata siswa pada pre-test adalah 59.07 dan pada post-test adalah 75.83. Dengan menggunakan rumus t-test maka terbukti perubahan yang sigfikan berbeda antara nilai siswa pada pre-test dan post-test. Kesimpulannya, penggunaan teknik story map adalah signifikan dalam pengajaran teks naratif pada pemahaman membaca siswa.
