RESPONS CURAH HUJAN TERHADAP FENOMENA MADDEN JULLIAN OSCILLATION (MJO) DI PONTIANAK

Madden Jullian Oscillation (MJO) merupakan sirkulasi skala besar di ekuator dan berpusat di Samudera Hindia yang bergerak ke Samudera Pasifik. Fenomena ini berpengaruh terhadap cuaca dan iklim secara global. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui respons curah hujan terhadap fenomena MJO di Pontianak. Metode yang digunakan adalah transformasi wavelet untuk melihat kekuatan dari curah hujan dan cross wavelet untuk melihat korelasi antara curah hujan dan indeks Real-time Multivariate MJO (RMM). Data yang digunakan adalah data curah hujan harian dan indeks RMM dari tahun 1985-2017 yang telah difilter menggunakan bandpass filter dengan cut off 30 dan 60. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa fenomena MJO cukup mempengaruhi curah hujan di Pontianak. Respons curah hujan di Pontianak sebanding dengan fenomena MJO yang terjadi selama sepuluh kejadian dengan rentang waktu 32 tahun.
