Modifikasi Pori Keramik Berbahan Dasar Pasir Kuarsa dan Lempung dengan Variasi Arus Anodizing Technique

Penelitian yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk membuat keramik yang terbuat dari bahan-bahan alam yaitu pasir kuarsa dan lempung serta memodifikasi pori keramik tersebut menggunakan anodizing technique. Proses pembuatan keramik meliputi penghalusan, pencampuran, pembentukan setengah bola berongga berdiameter 6,4 cm, pengeringan selama 5 hari, pembakaran 945 C, dan pendinginan 24 jam. Proses anodizing menggunakan tegangan 20 volt selama 30 menit dengan variasi arus yaitu 0,075 A, 0,10 A, 0,125 A, 0,150 A, dan 0,175 A. Porositas dan laju alir tertinggi adalah keramik dengan perlakuan anodizing untuk arus 0,075 A secara berturut-turut sebesar 31,9% dan 0,113 mL/menit. Porositas dan laju alir terendah adalah keramik dengan perlakuan anodizing untuk arus 0,175 A menghasilkan nilai secara berturut-turut sebesar 30,9% dan 0,108 mL/menit. Peningkatan arus yang diberikan saat proses anodizing justru membuat nilai porositas dan laju alir mengalami penurunan. Hal tersebut terindikasi akibat terjadi penebalan lapisan alumina saat proses anodizing.
