Studi Eksperimental Deposisi Lapisan TiO2 pada Permukaan Bulir Polipropilena dengan Metode Thermal Milling untuk Aplikasi Fotokatalis

Telah dilakukan eksperimen deposisi lapisan titanium dioksida (TiO2) pada permukaan bulir polipropilena (PP) dengan metode thermal milling. Studi eksperimental ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh besarnya kecepatan rotasi silinder dalam mesin thermal milling terhadap jumlah massa TiO2 yang terdeposisi pada permukaan PP. Proses milling dalam eksperimen ini dilakukan pada suhu konstan sebesar 175oC dengan waktu milling selama 30 menit agar PP tidak saling menempel dan membentuk gumpalan. Pemanfaatan material fotodegradasi berupa katalis titanium dioksida (TiO2) yang diimobilisasi pada suatu material penyangga berupa polimer polipropilena (PP) telah banyak diaplikasikan untuk pengolahan air limbah. Penelitian ini berfokus pada pengembangan proses pabrikasi material PP/TiO2 dengan menggunakan metode thermal milling. Pada penelitian telah dilakukan sebanyak lima variasi penggunaan kecepatan silinder thermal milling machine yakni 30 rpm, 20 rpm, 15 rpm, 10 rpm, dan 5 rpm untuk mengetahui pengaruhnya terhadap deposisi lapisan tipis TiO2 pada permukaan bulir PP. Berdasarkan hasil pabrikasi perolehan deposisi TiO2 optimum pada penggunaan kecepatan silinder thermal milling machine 10 rpm dengan massa TiO2 sebesar 1,1 gram.References
