Studi Sensitivitas Aliran Dalam Kanal Terbuka Menggunakan Pendekatan Komputasi Dinamika Fluida Model Turbulen Smagorinsky

Pada penelitian ini, simulasi dibangun menggunakan perangkat lunak OpenFOAM dengan model turbulen LES-Smagorinsky. Domain komputasi dibuat berdasarkan referensi ilmiah dengan panjang kanal adalah 2 m, tinggi kanal adalah 0.5 m dan kedalaman air adalah 0.25 m. Tahapan validasi telah dilakukan dengan menguji variasi grid (Δx dan Δy), nilai energi kinetik turbulen k dan panjang kanal L. Dengan membandingkan profil kecepatan dari data eksperimen maka diperoleh ukuran terbaik untuk grid domain komputasi yaitu Δx = 0.1 m, Δy = 0.01 m, energi kinetik turbulen k = 0.004 m2/s2, dan panjang kanal L = 2 m. Simulasi aliran air dalam kanal terbuka telah berhasil dibangun yang ditunjukkan dengan profil distribusi kecepatan yang mendekati data acuan yaitu data Coleman (1986). Sensitivitas pada ukuran grid terbaik yang dihasilkan tidak terlalu besar. Nilai korelasi dan error yang dihasilkan adalah sebesar 0.998 dan 0.014.
