Karakterisasi Bioplastik dari Pati Limbah Kulit Pisang Dengan Penambahan ZnO dan Gliserol

Penelitian terhadap pengaruh penambahan ZnO pada sifat fisis dan mekanis bioplastik berbahan utama pati kulit pisang sebagai alternatif pengganti plastik konvensional yang sulit terurai oleh tanah telah dilakukan. Bahan penyusun bioplastik terdiri dari ZnO sebagai filler, dan pati kulit pisang sebagai matriks dengan tambahan gliserol sebagai katalis dan air sebagai media pencampur bahan. bioplastik dibuat dengan fraksi perbandingan massa pati, gliserol dan air 5 g: 2,5 ml: 100 ml dan penambahan ZnO sebanyak 0, 0,5, 1, 1,5 dari perbandingan fraksi massa total bioplastik. Hasil pengujian daya serap air dan biodegradabilitas telah memenuhi standar ASTM D 638-02 dan ASTM 5336, sementara pada pengujian kuat tarik dan elongasi belum memenuhi standar yang ditentukan. Nilai optimum diperoleh pada penambahan ZnO sebanyak 20% dengan daya serap air sebesar 22,59 %, kuat tarik dan elongasi sebesar 14,76 MPa dan 115,1% serta kehilangan berat sebesar 57,62%.
