Studi Numerik Pola Aliran di Sekitar Pintu Air Menggunakan Pendekatan Komputasi Dinamika Fluida

Pintu air banyak digunakan pada sistem irigasi seperti waduk dan sungai. Pintu air biasa diterapkan pada bidang pertanian dan perkebunan. Distribusi profil kecepatan aliran di sekitar pintu air dapat diteliti menggunakan pendekatan komputasi dinamika fluida (Computational Fluid Dynamics/CFD). Penelitian ini mengkaji secara numerik pola aliran di sekitar pintu air menggunakan perangkat lunak OpenFOAM dengan menerapkan model turbulen LES Smagorinsky. Kajian pola aliran di sekitar pintu air dimulai dengan membangun simulasi aliran dalam kanal dengan sebuah pintu air. Selanjutnya pola aliran (subkritis, kritis dan superkritis) di sekitar pintu air ditentukan berdasarkan pada nilai bilangan Froude di tiga lokasi observasi (Fr1), yaitu Fr1(x=0,9m) (di hulu kanal), Fr1(x=2,95m) (di bawah pintu air), dan Fr1(x=3,5m) (di hilir kanal). Pada lokasi di hulu dan hilir kanal serta di bawah pintu air, 100% pola aliran berubah menjadi superkritis. Berdasarkan pola aliran ini, dapat diprediksi bentuk dasar aliran (bedform) yang akan terjadi. Pada tiga lokasi pengamatan, rata-rata pola aliran yang terjadi adalah superkritis dengan Fr1 > 1 yang dapat berdampak pada terbentuknya antidunes pada bentuk dasar aliran.
