Respons Curah Hujan Terhadap Fenomena Quasi Biennial Oscillation (QBO) di Kota Pontianak

Quasi Biennial Oscillation (QBO) merupakan fenomena atmosfer yang terjadi pada wilayah stratosfer di atas Ekuator, QBO ditandai dengan arah angin yang bergerak dari timur ke barat atau dari barat ke timur dengan laju 1 km per bulan. Fenomena ini berpengaruh terhadap suhu udara di wilayah Ekuator karena adanya pergerakan angin zonal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respons curah hujan terhadap fenomena QBO di Kota Pontianak. Metode yang digunakan adalah transformasi wavelet dan cross wavelet. Metode transformasi wavelet digunakan untuk mengetahui kekuatan curah hujan dan QBO. Metode cross wavelet digunakan untuk mengetahui korelasi antara curah hujan dan indeks angin zonal. Data yang digunakan adalah data curah hujan bulanan dan indeks angin zonal selama 34 tahun. Berdasarkan hasil yang telah diperoleh sinyal QBO di Kota Pontianak lebih dahulu merespons dari pada sinyal curah hujan selama 5 kejadian (1995 "“ 1999) dan sinyal curah hujan lebih dahulu merespons dari pada sinyal QBO selama 5 kejadian (2007 "“ 2011). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa fenomena QBO cukup mempengaruhi curah hujan di Kota Pontianak sebanding dengan fenomena QBO yang terjadi selama 10 kejadian dalam rentang waktu 34 tahun. Pengaruh yang disebabkan oleh fenomena QBO di Kota Pontianak adalah meningkatnya intensitas curah hujan pada saat fase baratan QBO dan menurunnya intensitas curah hujan pada saat fase timuran QBO.
