Adsorbsi Logam Fe Menggunakan Adsorben Karbon Kulit Durian Teraktivasi Larutan Kalium Hidroksida

Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai pembuatan karbon aktif dari kulit durian dengan aktivator larutan Kalium Hidroksida (KOH) dengan konsentrasi 25%. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan efektivitas adsorbsi terhadap logam Fe pada beberapa karbon aktif dari kulit durian yang dikalsinasi pada suhu berbeda. Sampel air yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berasal dari Sungai Menyuke yang terletak di Kecamatan Menyuke Hilir dengan titik koordinat pengambilan sampel pada 0 °23"™14.21" LU dan 109 °57"™41.8" BT. Pembuatan karbon aktif terdiri dari dua tahap, yaitu tahap karbonisasi dan aktivasi. Proses karbonisasi dilakukan pada suhu 400 °C selama dua jam. Sedangkan pada tahap aktivasi diberikan kalsinasi pada suhu 800 °C dan 900 °C selama dua jam. Dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan, karbon aktif kulit durian yang dihasilkan pada suhu kalsinasi 900 °C paling efektif menurunkan kadar logam Fe. Pada karbon aktif yang dikalsinasi pada suhu 900 °C, logam Fe berkurang dari 6,67 mg/L menjadi 0,403 mg/L dengan efektivitas adsorbsi sebesar 93,95%.
