Studi Pengaruh Curah Hujan dan Suhu Udara Terhadap Aridity Index di Kalimantan Barat Menggunakan Metode Thornthwaite

Kalimantan Barat merupakan salah satu provinsi di Indonesia yang dilalui oleh garis khatulistiwa dan memiliki tingkat kelembapan tinggi akibat curah hujan sepanjang tahun. Namun, suhu yang tinggi dan periode penurunan intensitas hujan dalam waktu yang lama pada wilayah ini dapat menyebabkan terjadinya kekeringan. Salah satu indeks yang digunakan untuk menilai tingkat kekeringan suatu wilayah adalah Aridity Index (AI) yang dihitung menggunakan metode Thornthwaite dengan mempertimbangkan rata-rata curah hujan dan suhu udara untuk menghitung evapotranspirasi potensialnya. Perhitungan AI menggunakan metode Thornthwaite telah berhasil dilakukan untuk periode 10 tahun (2012-2021) dan hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kekeringan di wilayah Kalimantan Barat berdasarkan AI sangat dipengaruhi oleh besar curah hujan yang ditunjukkan oleh besar korelasi bernilai positif pada tahun 2014 sebagai tahun terkering dan 2016 sebagai tahun terbasah yaitu +0,99 dan +0,75. Suhu udara memiliki korelasi bernilai negatif yakni -0,94 dan -0,88 sebagai faktor yang juga berpengaruh secara langsung terhadap perubahan nilai indeks kekeringan berdasarkan AI.
