Studi Kebergantungan Indeks Bias Air Terhadap Suhu dan Panjang Gelombang Berdasarkan Model Empiris

Telah dilakukan studi kebergantungan indeks bias air terhadap suhu dan panjang gelombang berdasarkan model empiris. Penelitian ini menggunakan perangkat lunak MATLAB. Data indeks bias bergantung suhu dan panjang gelombang yang digunakan berupa data sekunder yang didapatkan dari penelitian Bashkatov dan Genina. Data ini diolah menggunakan persamaan Cauchy orde 2 dan Sellmeier orde 2 untuk mendapatkan koefisien Cauchy orde 2 dan Sellmeier orde 2. Koefisien tersebut digunakan untuk mendapatkan fungsi Cauchy dan Sellmeier. Fungsi tersebut kemudian digunakan untuk mengetahui nilai indeks bias pada suhu tertentu menggunakan persamaan Cauchy orde 2 dan Sellmeier orde 2. Hasil yang didapatkan pada penelitian ini adalah model Cauchy dan Sellmeier menggunakan fungsi eksponensial. Koefisien Cauchy orde 2 dapat digunakan untuk mengetahui nilai indeks bias pada rentang panjang gelombang mulai dari 400 nm hingga 750 nm. Sedangkan koefisien Sellmeier orde 2 dapat digunakan untuk mengetahui nilai indeks bias pada rentang panjang gelombang mulai dari 200 nm hingga 900 nm. Dari penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa semakin tinggi suhu, maka koefisien Cauchy ataupun koefisien Sellmeier akan semakin rendah. Begitu pula dengan semakin tinggi suhu, maka semakin kecil indeks bias air.
