Identifikasi Karakteristik Mesoscale Convective Complex (MCC) di Wilayah Tual: Studi Kasus Hujan Lebat 18 Januari 2019

Pada artikel ini, dilakukan identifikasi Mesoscale Convective Complex (MCC) di wilayah Tual. MCC adalah sistem konveksi awan skala-meso yang dicirikan oleh bentuk pola besar, berdurasi panjang, dan semi-melingkar. Keberadaan MCC dapat mengakibatkan hujan lebat dan berdurasi panjang serta dapat mengakibatkan banjir. MCC dideteksi menggunakan citra satelit kanal inframerah dengan algoritma yang dibangun berdasarkan karakteristik dari MCC berupa tutupan awan, eksentrisitas, dan durasi keberadaan awan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunujukan bahwa hujan lebat pada tanggal 18 Januari 2019 di wilayah Tual tercatat 74 mm dalam sehari terjadi akibat adanya MCC pada wilayah tersebut. Hasil akhir dari analisis algoritma pengolah citra awan berbasis data satelit pada studi kasus mampu menghasilkan koordinat lintang dan bujur lokasi MCC saat fase tumbuh, matang dan punah, yang muncul di wilayah Tual.References
