The Betok river is a river where may allow the unique fishes species that live in it. The uniqueness of fish species due the unique character of habitat which is a place for fish to live. The purpose of this study was to determine the type of fish that live in Betok River and the characteristics of the habitat. The method used is to describe the fish species obtained from purposive random sampling with four different sampling stations based on environmental factor. Fish sample were collected using five tools (trawl, fish trap, net, scoop, and fishing rod) at each sampling station with three repetitions. Fish sample then being described and analysed by attending frequency of fish species on the sampling station and the tools effectivity due catch per unit effort (CPUE) value. We found 21 species from 12 families (Cyprinidae, Eleotridae, Gobiidae, Zenarcopteridae, Channidae, Siluridae, Claridae, Syngnathidae, Chandidae, Mastacembelidae, Synbranchidae, and Belontiidae) in Betok River. Cyprinidae is the highest fish species founded by 6 species. Species with the highest attending frequency value are B. lateristriga, B. binotatus, R. einthovenii, dan H. kapuasensis with 8,57% attending frequency relative value. The most effective tools in case fish sampling in the Betok river is drain with 19.13 CPUE value. Betok River have some environmental conditions like a temperature 21.6-24.6 ℃, pH 7, light penetration 100%, flow speed 0.3-0.96 m/s, rivers depth 0.86-1.83 m, and dissolved oxygen value 5.2-6 mg /L.Downloads
