Abstract

Kumbang jagung (Sitophilus zeamais) merupakan salah satu hama utama pada jagung selama penyimpanan, yang menyebabkan kerugian signifikan pada kualitas dan kuantitas hasil panen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami siklus hidup S. zeamais pada beberapa tingkat kekeringan jagung. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Hama Tanaman Universitas Tanjungpura selama empat bulan dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan tiga perlakuan yaitu, jagung kering panen (0 jam), jagung yang dioven selama 24 jam, dan jagung yang dioven selama 48 jam dengan suhu 70 °C. Setiap perlakuan diinfestasikan hama sebanyak satu pasang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan tanpa oven sangat rentan terhadap serangan hama, dengan perkembangan populasi hama paling cepat dan berat imago tertinggi terjadi pada perlakuan tersebut. Sedangkan, perlakuan pengeringan dengan oven selama 24 jam dan 48 jam tergolong rentan terhadap serangan hama. Perlakuan 48 jam menunjukkan perkembangan hama paling lambat dan berat imago terendah.
