Abstract

Many large rivers and small rivers in west Kalimantan, especially inland areas where electricity facilities have not been touched.   This is a good potential to be developed as an alternative energy, the development of electrical energy in areas especially places that do not yet have electricity. The location of Micro Hydro Power Plant (PLTMH) is near the highway in Nanga Taman sub-district. This study used Crossflow turbines, and a 35 kVA generator that could meet the needs of local residents with a total of 143 houses.  And directly managed by the community. The operating time is starting from 16.00 WIB "“ 08.00 WIB. The parameters to be measured and calculated include water flow discharge, hydraulic power, generator power and generator turbine efficiency. This research was conducted using a method that is a comparison between maximum power in the community and the power produced theoretically in order to obtain turbine efficiency results.  From the results of this study obtained water discharge from the average of each segment is 0.756, and the highest hydraulic power is at the discharge of 0.756 with a head of 4,162 which is to produce hydraulic power of 30,866.89 watts. The efficiency of generator turbines is a comparison between the maximum load in the community with hydraulic power of 44.902%, and the comparison between generator power generated and theoretical calculations that have been obtained is 67.759%.
