Wind tunnel design, the available literature has almost no specific design rules for wind tunnel design. The purpose of this research is to design a small open-circuit wind that can be demonstrated as a testing tool in fluid mechanics research. The results of the CFD simulation using Simscale in this study using a combination of designs based on predetermined parameters using the taguchi orthogonal arrays method. Optimizing the design of wind results from CFD simulations using the signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio developed by Dr. Taguchi as a standard deviation quality characteristic with a Larger-Better Ratio (S/N) response value gets a maximum speed of 8,781 m/s in the test section, and a Smaller-better Ratio (S/N) response value with a recovery of the diffuser outlet flow velocity of 4.693 m/s and obtain an ideal velocity in the test section of 8.280 m/s.Downloads
