Analisa Pengaruh Heat Treatment Terhadap Perubahan Nilai Kekerasan Mata Pisau Mesin Pencacah Pakan Ternak Menggunakan Material AISI D2 Dan ST 42

Feed is very important in the livestock business. Animal feed chopping machines can be a solution to overcome this problem by allowing farmers to produce their own animal feed from raw materials available around them. One of the main components of a chopping machine is the knife blade. The stages in the process of making a knife blade which produces a knife with the criteria of being hard, tough and resistant. The methods used in this research include literature studies, quantitative methods and experimental methods. In this study, hardness testing used the ASTM E92 testing standard. The materials that will be used in testing are AISI D2 steel and ST 42 steel by taking 10 test specimens with dimensions of 40mm x 40mm x 4 mm. Each test specimen was taken at 5 hardness testing pointsVickers. Temperature Heat Treatment 900ËšC and 950ËšC with Holding Time 10 minutes and 30 minutes using water as a medium Quenching. The results of this research show that the average hardness value without AISI D2 treatment is 216.86 HV and ST 42 is 106.78 HV. Temperature 900ËšC with Holding Time 10 average hardness values 436.9 HV and 156.56 HV with Holding Time 30 minutes the average hardness value was 515.14 HV and 128.58 HV. Temperature 950ËšC with Holding Time 10 minute average hardness value of 325.64 HV and 147.14 HV with Holding Time 30 minutes the average hardness value was 514.98 HV and 162.34 HV. It can be concluded that the highest hardness value is at a temperature of 900ËšC with Holding Time 30 minutes the average hardness value is 515.14 HV.
