Perancangan Chassis Mobil Listrik KMHE Menggunakan Metode Pahl and Beitz

Electric car development will be quick due to competition to build market-ready automobiles. Indonesia hosts the student-level Indonesia Electric Car Contest. Thus, event-ready electric cars must be designed. The National Center for Education and Culture organizes the national "energy-saving car competition" Energy Efficient automobile Contest (KMHE). This activity involves making safe electric cars for the automobile sector. The chassis is essential to the car's load support. The objective is a lightweight chassis with excellent safety factor. This research calculates safety factor values for aluminum and steel carbon materials using the Pahl and Beitz technique and Fusion 360 simulation, using driver load (A), material thickness (B), and material profile (C). The experiment was repeated 9 times with the above combination on each material. Experiment 6 had the highest safety factor value, 4.661, on aluminum and 4.639 on steel carbon. According to tests, aluminum has the greatest safety factor and is lighter than carbon steel, which has a really good safety factor but is heavier. Therefore, aluminum is suggested for KMHE automobile chassis to save energy.
