Rancang Bangun Alat Uji Impact 100 Joule Type Charpy Skala Laboratorium

Impact testing is a method used to measure the toughness of a material against shock loads. This impact test simulates common operational conditions of materials where loading occurs suddenly rather than gradually. The need for practical tools in the laboratory is essential for the learning process and scientific research. Therefore, the availability of a Charpy-type impact test device allows students to test the material's characteristics while applying the knowledge gained in lectures through hands-on practice. The main objective of this research is to design and develop a laboratory-scale Charpy-type impact test device. The outcome of this Charpy-type impact test device design is a device with dimensions of 0.9 m x 0.6 m x 1.37763 m, using a pendulum mass of 7.053 kg and a pendulum arm length of 0.630 m, resulting in a Charpy-type impact test device capacity of 97.45 Joules. The test calculations on an aluminum alloy AA 6061 specimen with a thickness of 10 mm yielded a maximum absorbed energy value of 44.31 Joules and a maximum impact value of 0.0805 J/mm ².
