The thermoelectric cooling system, which operates without refrigerant and a compressor, is being investigated as an environmentally friendly alternative to vapor compression cooling systems. This study aims to compare the effect of different fan diameters on the room temperature cooled by the thermoelectric cooling system, as well as to analyze the COP of the system. A thermoelectric room cooling system with varying air delivery fan diameters was used in this research to evaluate the system"™s capability in cooling a designated space made of multiplex wood with dimensions of 30 cm × 30 cm × 30 cm. The influence of fan diameter on the temperature inside the cooled room and the electrical energy consumed by the cooling system was observed. The fan with a diameter of 6 cm produced the lowest room temperature of 27.7 °C, with an electrical power consumption of 55.008 watts. The 9 cm diameter fan resulted in the same temperature of 27.7 °C but with higher energy consumption of 56.8339 watts. Meanwhile, the 12 cm diameter fan produced a higher temperature of 28.5 °C and consumed 59.0245 watts of electrical power. The highest COP value of 0.1687 was obtained using the 12 cm diameter fan, indicating that variations in the air delivery fan diameter significantly affect the performance of the thermoelectric cooling system.References
