PENGEMBANGAN SISTEM PENDUKUNG BIMBINGAN OLINE TUGAS AKHIR (BIOTA) BERBASIS ANDROID

Abstract

Abstrak-- Pemberian gelar bagi mahasiswa harus melalui pembuatan Tugas Akhir yang harus dipertanggung jawabkan dalam bentuk Ujian Tugas Akhir. Peran pembimbing diperlukan dalam proses pelaksanaannya. Kendala yang dihadapi dalam melakukan bimbingan adalah jarak dan jadwal yang berbeda antara dosen dan mahasiswa menciptakan miskomunikasi terhadap proses bimbingan. Adanya aplikasi bimbingan skripsi online berbasis web membuat komunikasi tetap terjaga tanpa harus mencocokkan jadwal terlebih dahulu. Bimbingan skripsi online berbasis web hanya memiliki notifikasi/pemberitahuan melalui e-mail, untuk itu diperlukan pengembangan aplikasi menjadi berbasis Android yang dapat memberikan notifikasi/pemberitahuan secara Real-Time. Android dipilih karena popularitasnya di kalangan masyarakat Indonesia sebagai sistem operasi device yang mampu mengganti pekerjaan komputer. Banyak aplikasi sejenis untuk melakukan komunikasi tapi tidak menyertakan history/dokumentasi dari proses bimbingan.

Alat perancangan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Unified Modeling Language dan Entity Relationship Diagram. Pengujian penelitian menggunakan metode Black Box dan Robustness Testing yang kemudian dihitung menggunakan metode LSR. Penelitian ini mengembangkan sistem pendukung tugas akhir yang sudah ada dengan notifikasi/pemberitahuan secara Real-Time dan pemanfaatan history/dokumentasi proses bimbingan melalui sistem bimbingan online Tugas Akhir berbasis Android.
