Abstract

Pontianak merupakan ibu kota Provinsi Kalimantan Barat yang kaya akan sejarah dan budaya nya, seperti musik, pakaian adat khas Melayu serta cerita rakyatnya yaitu asal usul terbentuknya kota Pontianak. Penyampaian cerita rakyat tersebut saat ini masih disampaikan dengan menggunakan buku cerita yang sudah sulit dicari. Metode penyampaian ini juga mengakibatkan masyarakat kesulitan untuk mengetahui cerita rakyat asal usul kota Pontianak. Pada penelitian ini dibuat aplikasi berbasis game RPG yang dibangun menggunakan RPG Maker VX Ace, ceritanya berdasarkan cerita rakyat asal usul kota Pontianak yang dimana pemain akan memainkan peran seorang tokoh Syarif Abdurrahman untuk menjalankan sebuah storyline yang telah ditentukan. Game dibuat berbasis 2 Dimensi. Game ini menambahkan unsurunsur kebudayaan kota Pontianak seperti musik khas melayu dan menjadi sebuah alternatif baru untuk masyarakat yang ingin mengetahui sejarah Kota Pontianak. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian, tombol kontrol pada aplikasi ini sudah berjalan dengan baik dan lancar sesuai yang diharapkan. Berdasarkan hasil kuesioner menggunakan skala Likert"™s Summated Rating (LSR) diperoleh nilai total 1614 yang berarti aplikasi ini diimplementasikan dengan sangat baik.
