Abstract

Forum komunikasi program studi informatika merupakan sarana berbagi informasi terkait perkuliahan Program Studi Informatika Universitas Tanjungpura bagi Dosen, Mahasiswa dan Staf. Cara dosen menyampaikan informasi di lingkungan Program Studi Informatika masih berupa pengumuman, melalui sms kepada mahasiswa tertentu, majalah dinding, atau Whatsapp. Cara ini kurang efektif dikarenakan manajemen grup kelas dari Whatsapp atau kontak mahasiswa yang dihubungi menjadi lebih banyak. Hal ini dapat menyebabkan kesalahan pemberian informasi ke grup atau mahasiswa yang berbeda. Mahasiswa dan dosen juga akan mendaptkan kesulitan untuk berdiskusi tentang informasi yang diberikan apabila hanya berupa pengumuman di majalah dinding dan tidak semua mahasiswa mendapatkan informasi yang diberikan. Untuk mengatasinya adalah dengan berdiskusi langsung seperti forum. Dengan adanya forum, dosen tidak perlu manajemen grup-grup Whatsapp, kontak mahasiswa perwakilan, dan pengumuman majalah dinding. Dosen dapat langsung memberikan informasi yang ingin diberikan melalui forum dengan topik dan mata kuliah yang sesuai dengan informasi yang ingin diberikan Setelah dosen memberikan informasi tersebut maka mahasiswa yang bersangkutan dengan mata kuliah tersebut akan secara otomatis mendapatkan notifikasi berupa email bahwa terdapat pengumuman baru dari mata kuliah yang bersangkutan.
