RUANG PUBLIK DAN KEHIDUPAN KAMPUS: STUDI ETNOGRAFI SPASIAL RUANG-RUANG KOMUNAL DI FAKULTAS TEKNIK UNTAN

Ruang publik di kampus memegang peran penting dalam mendukung aktivitas sosial, akademik, dan pengembangan diri mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan memahami bagaimana mahasiswa memanfaatkan ruang publik di Fakultas Teknik Universitas Tanjungpura (UNTAN) dan memberikan rekomendasi desain komunal yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan pengguna. Metode etnografi spasial dipilih karena dapat menggali aspek fisik, sosial, dan simbolis ruang melalui observasi perilaku, pemetaan aktivitas, melihat pola pergerakan, dan wawancara. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa ruang publik yang ada saat ini kurang fleksibel, minim fasilitas peneduh dan tempat duduk. Ruang publik juga belum optimal dalam mendukung pola aktivitas mahasiswa yang dinamis dan kolaboratif. Rekomendasi yang diajukan meliputi peningkatan fleksibilitas ruang, penambahan elemen peneduh dan zona aktivitas yang terstruktur, serta penguatan konektivitas antar-ruang. Studi ini diharapkan dapat menjadi acuan dalam pengembangan ruang publik kampus yang lebih adaptif dan selaras dengan kebutuhan mahasiswa di UNTANReferences
