LIGHTING LEVEL EFFICIENCY AND VISIBILITY GRADIENT PERFORATED SUN SHADING IN SQUARE SHAPE AND ROUND
A room that can enter direct sunlight can be said to be good in design, but if excessive incoming sunlight can cause glare and heat to room users. The behavior of room users that is very common to overcome the glare and heat from the sun is to close the window curtains and turn on the room lights. This behavior, without realizing it, has wasted electrical energy, because in fact the conditions outside the room are still bright enough sunlight to illuminate the room and with renewable resources. The use of graded sun shading can be a solution to reduce glare from the sun while reducing the heat emitted. The forms of sun shading that are commonly used in several buildings in Indonesia are square and round. The research method used in this research is a dummy room experiment using Sketch Up to see the visibility of sun shading and a dummy room experiment with Autodesk Ecotect Analysis to determine the level of illumination in the room. The aim of this research is to find the most effective graded perforated sun shading design for reducing indoor glare and the most effective level of visibility. The results of this research were to find that the circular graded perforated sun shading design was the most effective compared to the square graded perforated sun shading design for reducing indoor glare and the comparison was without using graded perforated sun shading. From simulations using SketchUp software, it was found that the visibility level of square and round graded perforated sun shading both provided a fairly good level of visibility.
